Are You Using the Best Salt? Himalayan Pink Salt For the Win.
Are you scared of salt? I used to be. I was so scared of it that I never added it to my food. I would only have it if I ate something processed. I have a much healthier relationship with salt now. But did you know salt is necessary? And too often, people are using the wrong kind. Did you know that Himalayan pink salt contains around 84 trace minerals in addition to the actual sodium content? I can be a bit of a science nerd, so when a friend told me she was using Himalayan pink salt to help with some health problems she was having, I was intrigued.…

Yes, You Can Lead Your Child to Jesus
Coming to Jesus isn’t just for adults. In fact, Jesus himself said in Matthew 19:14, “let the little children come to me and do not hinder them for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these”. One of the most heartbreaking trends I see is when Christian parents don’t step into their God-given role of disciplers and evangelists in their own homes. They miss out on opportunities to share Jesus in their own homes. Ouch. In the USA especially, we set up a family schedule that often hinders our child’s ability to come to Jesus. Our schedules are often so full of school, after-school activities, and household stuff, that…

Need to Homeschool During This Pandemic?
I’m sure you’ve seen all the memes if you’ve spent any time on social media. They run the gamut from wine and pajama time to how to create a detailed schedule for your child’s “homeschool”. First of all, what you’re experiencing with “homeschooling” during stay-at-home orders is nothing like what true homeschooling can be under normal circumstances. Right now there are no parks, museums, and other children to play with. This is all very difficult and heartbreaking for the kids and the parents. We’re all stressed. Some of us still have jobs to go to which is stressful and for those who don’t have jobs right now, there is another…

Want Better Health? Say Goodbye to Your Microwave
At the risk of sounding like a cuckoo with a tinfoil hat, hear me out. I’m all about helping you make healthy choices for your mind, your body, and your family. I believe God wants us to be good stewards of all these things. And information gives us what we need to make better choices to improve our health. While I know that microwaves offer a certain level of convenience, does that convenience outweigh the potential harm they can cause? I’ll let you decide for yourself. Do you know what the microwave is doing to your food? Here’s the short version. Microwaves use electromagnetic energy to make water molecules move…

The Holy Spirit is the Most Essential Oil
Move over frankincense, there’s an oil more powerful than anything you’ve ever experienced. It’s better than lavender, tea tree, more potent than oregano, and doesn’t cost a penny. What if there were an oil that would guide you into all truth? What if there were an oil that would teach you? What if there were an oil that would empower you? What if there were an oil that would grant you eternal life? No, I’m not selling tickets to the fountain of youth. I’m telling you about the most important oil in the universe. You can take it with you anywhere you go. This oil can transform your life. The…

Don’t Knock it Until You Try It-My Whole 30 Journey
I’ve done multiple Whole 30’s in the past few years. But I always made a concession. I would just hang on to one little bit of something I wanted. Maybe a piece of cheese, or maybe Whole 30 friendly desserts. But this time I decided to go all in. Now I know, the first thing you’ll probably try and tell me is that “fad diets” aren’t sustainable. True, they aren’t. Living on only cayenne pepper lemonade or cabbage soup or even Slim-Fast shakes is not healthy nor is it a long-term solution. None of those diets teach you how your body feels after certain foods are removed. None of those…

Are You a Master of Excuses?
My daughter is the master of excuses. I thought I was, but this girl has me beat. Ask her to do anything she doesn’t want to and instantly she turns into a ball of excuses. Maybe you’ve heard some of these before: I ran out of energy. My legs are too tired. Mommy, mommy, I have to tell you something. My brain hurts. Yes, that’s just a sampling of the excuses that come out of her mouth and boy does it get me frustrated at times. She’ll waste more energy running back and forth to tell me she’s out of energy than she would if she had just cleared the…

My Secret For Managing My Children’s Messes
I hate to clean. Truly. Maybe hate is a strong word, but I definitely don’t like it. Cleaning takes away from more exciting things like playing, going on field trips, and creating projects. It takes me away from writing and reading and painting. And it’s definitely NOT fun. I especially dislike cleaning up after other people. Let’s be honest, when you have kids, 80% of the mess is theirs anyway. Dishes, laundry, toys on the floor, it’s all theirs. Because I hate it so much, I had to design the functions in my house to help contain it as easily as possible. Aside from taking a garbage bag and leaving…

Faith as a Mustard Seed
Faith is such a hot topic. Have you ever heard any of these phrases? You just need to have faith. Your faith isn’t big enough. You don’t have _________because you don’t have enough faith. Then there’s the issue of what you put your faith in. Is your faith in your abilities? The ability of a man or woman? Or in God Himself? Maybe it’s mixture of all three. The bible talks extensively on the issue of faith but I want to hone in on one scripture that I’ve heard preached about a million times. God showed me something new (to me) in it and I want to share that with…
